Garden of the Gods is this cool park of red-rock formations between Manitou Springs, the home of the Pike’s Peak cog railroad, and Colorado Springs. Amazing what erosion can do, no?

Don’t ask me what’s with the special effects. I don’t owe you an explanation!

Look at the gravel road, it’s red! You don’t see that around here.

And that, in the distance, is the Pike’s Peak itself – the naked mountaintop, that is.

There it is again – 14,000 feet! My family took the cog train up to the top, but some people hike up… on foot!

Next up: the beautiful wheat fields of Colorado and Kansas. Stay tuned!

Wow, is that ever gorgeous! I’ve not been there yet, but can see why it is called the Garden of the Gods. Incredible.
