This is my friend Keiko. Keiko is Japanese and is married to one of Jacob’s good friends, Clovis. Clovis is the son of George Siemon, the C-I-E-I-O (CEO, for you) of Organic Valley, the maker of fine dairy products and a sponsor of this blog; and Jane Siemon, the author of The Whole Plate food curriculum. This is a small town, and everyone’s connected, which makes me endlessly happy.
I love name-dropping – it makes me feel more special by association.
But back t0 Keiko – aside from being a beautiful and gracious lady that she is, she is one of the most wonderful home cooks I’ve ever met. Her food is not simply good, it is sublime. Man. I want to be Keiko when I grow up.
Clovis and Keiko recently had a baby, a little boy. He is a little younger than Evelyn.
My, what a beautiful boy.
And here’s their older son, another beautiful boy. Give him a year, and he and Cyrus can be good buddies.
Oh my gosh, a sleeping baby! I can’t resist a sleeping baby!
Goodness, he’s smiling in his sleep! This makes me melt and want another baby.
Wait, I have another baby!
Kii, the baby, and Evelyn could be in the same class.
That’s the beautiful thing about a small community – everyone’s a neighbor, everyone’s known each other for a long, long time. It makes me very happy to live here, and to have friends like Keiko.
